So, nearing the end of the Buffalo visit...
We've been relaxing mostly, but there have been a few other occasions that we've done some exciting things as well.
On Wednesday, Andy and I went into Canada and visited Marineland Canada. I got to meet Aelia and Jennifer there, and hung out for a few hours. It was fun and I really enjoyed chatting with them and just hanging out.
The belugas were very interactive and fun to play with. However, the water levels had been changed so the windows were very foggy and hard to see beyond a certain point.
Ikaika was very moody during the day, not at all interested in people or even taking part in the show. And Kiska was in the back pool the entire time and barely seen.
Can't say I blame them though, as the heat was unbearable. It was crazy hot there in the park and in New York as well... I wouldn't put it past the animals to have been bugged by it too...
Though, one cool moment I didn't happen to catch sadly, was a seagull sitting on the pool's edge. Ike rushed at it and attempted to grab it. He missed, but it was damn impressive to watch his do that so up close!
The time with Aelia and Jennifer was awesome, and I hope maybe to one day meet up again with them!
Yesterday, Andy and I went to a place called Lasertron, which was like a game of Lasertag. We got an all you can play deal and played about five games. It was a fun day of arcade games and laser tag.
I also found in a game store nearby a GBA game, Sonic Advance 2, I've been looking for months, so I grabbed that.
Today, I'm gonna post some more things home to save room. There's also a couple of small gifts being sent to friends.
Then tomorrow, I have to say farewell to the USA, as tomorrow I'm on my way to the United Kingdom! :D

If it makes you feel any better Lee, Ike was just as moody the next day and the Friendship Cove belugas were nowhere to be seen, since 3 of the younglings were trapped in the shallows to get shots. I'm sure Ike could hear the belugas not having a very fun time. One of the males, Tofino, was keeping all the other belugas in the corner because he wanted to keep them safe from being trapped in the shallows. That seagull lunge was one of the coolest things I've ever seen, too bad he didn't catch it! :D That would have been so gorey.
ReplyDeleteI hope to meet up with you in the future, I had a great time and I'm happy to hear you did too, despite Friendship Cove being a little bit of a let down (and the heat!). The baby belugas loved you!
